Curls can be difficult to manage! Many curly girls find themselves becoming frustrated with their curls because they don't know how to manage them. Instead of always putting your curls up in a bun because you're annoyed, we want you to embrace your natural texture! Here's how you can take your curls to the next level.

Go sulfate free:

If you haven't already, purge your shampoos and conditioners of any that contain sulfates. Sulfates and silicones are a no go for your natural curls. Sulfates will strip your curls of natural moisture while silicone coats your strands. While this might make them look shiny and healthy, it actually can clog up your pores and strands. This makes it difficult for moisture to penetrate your curl's shaft. If you're continuing to use sulfates to get rid of the silicone in your curls, you might even notice your hair is more oily. This is because your scalp overproduces oil to make up for the lost moisture. Skip both ingredients all together and opt for products containing all natural ingredients.

Deep condition:

This is something you should be doing regularly. Since your curls are the driest of the hair types, you need to help your strands out to make them stay hydrated. Upping your deep conditioning came to 2x a week can help you strands stay on track. Adding this into your routine will increase shine, moisture and make your curls that much more manageable.

Correct styler:

If you aren't using products in your curls yet, it's time to think about upping your curl care game. Stylers can help you manage your curls, keep frizz at bay and just make things better overall. Selecting the right styler for your curl type is an important part of taking care of your curls. Apply product by scrunching it throughout your wet curls and then use an old t-shirt or microfiber towel to scrunch out any excess water.
